What the rule does to a deposit, in numbers

Deposit 1,000 AUD at Wild Fortune and the clause converts it into 3,000 AUD of required stakes before a withdrawal request can be made against it. The same deposit at Bitcasino.io converts into 1,000 AUD of required stakes. Neither figure is a fee and neither is deducted; both are a volume of play the money has to pass through first.

That distinction is the whole reason the rule escapes comparison pages. Nothing is taken. The money is simply not yours to move until it has been through the games, and every pass through a game gives the house its edge again.

Put an illustrative return of 96 cents in the dollar against it — a figure that varies by title and by which build of a game the operator licensed, so read it as arithmetic rather than as a reading of anything on this table — and three passes over 1,000 AUD carry an expected cost of about 120 AUD against about 40 for a single pass. The rule triples the expected cost of holding the money at that operator, before a single line of the bonus terms is opened.

Why it never reaches a column

Comparison tables carry a wagering column, and that column is populated from the bonus terms. Deposit turnover does not live there. Wild Fortune states it in the section on deposits, Bitcasino.io in the withdrawal terms, Bitsler among its promotional conditions. A scraper reading the bonus section of all three finds nothing, and a scraper is what fills most tables.

The second reason is that the rule has no headline number to compare against. A wagering multiple is a single figure that ranks cleanly, so it survives into a cell. A deposit turnover clause is a sentence about when funds become withdrawable, and sentences do not rank.

The result is that the most reliably applied turnover requirement on the table — reliably, because it needs no bonus and no opt-in — is the one no reader is shown.

A bonus multiple and a deposit multiple are not the same size

They are also not comparable in the direction people assume. How to read for it before depositing

Search the terms for the word turnover and for the word wagered, and read every hit rather than only the ones under a bonus heading. The clause you are looking for attaches the requirement to a deposit, not to bonus funds, and it usually appears in a sentence about when funds become available for withdrawal.

Then check what the requirement is measured in. A turnover requirement counts stakes placed, so a balance that goes round several times can satisfy it without the player ever staking the full sum in one sitting — and equally, a balance that loses steadily may never satisfy it at all.
